Zen meditation is also known as zazen, it is the same practice that Buddha used when he got his enlightenment which has been the inspiration for many meditators around the world for millions of years. Meditation Zen is all about quietening your mind, being able to have a still mind regardless of the situation or the stresses around you, being grounded to the earth and learning about yourself.
Meditation Zen is thought of as the meditation school of Buddhism, it is also the basis of all other meditation practices and the enlightenment that Buddha speaks of is what most meditators are looking for, working towards and have as their goals to achieve.
Many people wonder if they can follow a meditation Zen practice even if they are not of the Buddha religion or do not wish to follow the religious beliefs that are normally tied to the meditation Zen practice, but because meditation is not strictly a religious practice, and meditation Zen is also zazen meditation which is the basis for other meditation practices, you do not have to be religious or follow the religious paths to practice or benefit from these meditation practices.
Meditation Zen is a productive way for you to learn about yourself, change the mind-sets and beliefs that you want to change, gain the enlightenment that you desire and benefit from being more relaxed, along with all the other benefits of a meditation practice.
